Stellar Standard Recipients 2026

The Stellar Standard 2026 has officially recognised a new cohort of outstanding employee networks that are demonstrating excellence in supporting staff and acting as strategic partners in fostering inclusive workplaces.

Awarded as part of a rigorous national benchmarking process, the Stellar Standard highlights networks that go beyond activity - showcasing measurable impact, strong governance, and meaningful collaboration with senior leaders.

This year’s recognised networks have evidenced their role not only in creating safe and supportive spaces for employees, but also in influencing organisational decision-making, shaping policy, and driving cultural change

Organisers emphasise that employee networks are a critical component of modern organisations; not an optional extra.

“The Stellar Standard sets the benchmark for what excellent looks like,” a spokesperson said. “These networks are not just delivering events. They are delivering impact. They are trusted partners, influencing strategy, improving outcomes, and strengthening inclusion at every level of the organisation.”

Co-Chair of NHS England’s LGBTQIA+ Network, Melanie Holloway said:

“Receiving the Stellar Standard Benchmark is a significant moment for our network and a powerful recognition of the integrity, persistence and impact of our work. Our network continues to lead with integrity and purpose, ensuring LGBTQIA+ voices are heard and valued, even where support is not always explicit. It strengthens our position as an established, credible network and reinforces our role as a strategic partner to the organisation supporting it to meet its legal responsibilities to our community.”

GMCA and GMFRS Race and Faith Staff Network and GMCA Women’s and Women in the Fire Service Staff Network also were recipients of the Stellar Standard. A representative said:

“Achieving the Stellar Standard represents a significant milestone for the Women's, Race, and Faith staff networks, as well as for the wider organisation. It signifies a collective commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, where diversity is not only valued but actively championed. This accomplishment demonstrates our ongoing dedication to equality, empowerment, and creating meaningful opportunities for all staff, ultimately strengthening our organisational culture, and enhancing our impact both internally and for the communities we serve”.

The recognition comes at a time when organisations are increasingly looking to demonstrate the value and return on investment of their inclusion efforts. The Stellar Standard provides a clear framework for assessing effectiveness, sustainability and strategic alignment.

Networks that achieve the standard are able to demonstrate:

  • Clear purpose aligned to organisational priorities

  • Evidence of influence and impact

  • Strong leadership and governance

  • Effective engagement with members and stakeholders

  • A commitment to continuous improvement

The announcement of the Stellar Standard 2026 recipients was formally recognised during the National Day for Staff Networks Conference in London on Wednesday 13 May 2026, bringing together leaders and practitioners from across the UK.
